Warriors shutout by Stockton

A four zero shutout usually means one team dominated the other. But in this game it didn’t seem that way. Shots on goal E27-S22; penalties E7-S8 (ESU had a 2 minute 5 on 3, followed immediately by another 5 on 4 advantage). One thing to note was an ESU 14 to 5 shots edge in the 3rd Period. Need that energy early in the game.

The first period was scoreless. In the second period Stockton got on the scoreboard with 13 minutes left in the period on a power play. The score came on a wrist shot from the left circle dot. ESU 0 SU 1.

Ten minutes later Tim Brown stick checked the puck carrier twice along the boards. The puck went to the point where a snap shot was stopped by goalie Travis LeBar, but the rebound was sent to the twine. ESU 0 SU 2. With 32 seconds left in the 2nd, a beautiful pass from the circle to a player flying to the slot and the biscuit found the basket. ESU 0 SU 3.

Just as a Stockton power played ended they scored their final goal. In what really was a man advantage situation, a give and go pass behind the net allowed a player to step out and shoot from the post. That shot was stopped, but the rebound went to an open man on the far side of the net and rubber disc was flipped in. Final score ESU 0 – Stockton 4.
